Protect and Preserve

Rug Padding

In addition to feeling nice under foot, good quality, properly fit rug pads help extend the life of your rugs. They slow down wear patterns in high-traffic areas, keep rugs from sliding, create a pet accident barrier between your rug and your floor, and provide some sound absorption.

If your current rug pads are more than three years old, or if they have had some pet urine damage, it’s probably time to replace them. We have a few different kinds of rug pad to choose from. We’re happy to suggest one that best suits your needs!

 Fiber Protection

Professional strength professionally applied fiber protector provides a window of time of about 15 minutes to blot up a stain or spill, and they allow for increased soil removal during vacuuming. The best time to apply fiber protection is when your textiles are new, or newly cleaned.

Be sure to have fiber protector applied to your freshly cleaned rugs! It’s a very affordable treatment that goes a long way to keeping your rugs looking their very best.

Moth Treatment

If you suspect a moth infestation or have seen small beige moths flying around your home or closets, visible larvae in or around your rugs or other wool items (coats, blankets, etc…), sticky webbing or tiny cocoons on or underneath your wool items, or odd-shaped bare patches of rug that appear after vacuuming, then call us right away to come and inspect your rugs.

If moths are found to be present, the items in question can be contained and taken for cleaning and moth treatment. The services of an exterminator may be required to get ahead of the problem at home.

Wrapping

Whether it’s time to take your rugs up for the season, time to ship them elsewhere, or time to put them away long-term, we have a wrapping solution for you. For long-term storage (6 months or more) we suggest tear resistant TyVec paper. For short-term storage, we use brown Kraft paper. We avoid plastic whenever possible so that your rugs can breathe while they are tucked out of sight. Consider treating your rugs with a moth repellant before wrapping for an extra level of protection!

Our wrapping services are a very affordable way to keep your rugs clean and pest-free until you are ready to use them again.
